A week into the 30-day window for the Los Angeles Dodgers to sign Ryu Hyun-jin, the South Korean left-hander met with the team Monday in Southern California, Yahoo Sports reported.

Ryu, 25, was spotted Sunday attending a Los Angeles Lakers game.

On Nov. 10, the Dodgers won the exclusive rights to negotiate with Ryu, agreeing to pay $25.75 million to his Korean team, the Hanwha Eagles, should they sign the pitcher.

Yahoo Sports described Monday's meeting as "an introductory session," with Ryu attending along with his agent, Scott Boras. The same report indicated that the Dodgers have interest in free agent right-handers Zack Greinke, most recently of the Los Angeles Angels, and Anibal Sanchez, who finished last season with the Detroit Tigers.

Ryu was Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year in the Korea Baseball Organization when he was 19 years old. He pitched South Korea to the gold medal in the 2008 Olympics and helped his country reach the finals of the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

He went 9-9 with a 2.66 ERA last season for Hanwha, with 210 strikeouts in 182 2/3 innings. In seven years, he has a 2.80 ERA.
