The NFL is turning to Congress to help pass human growth hormone testing.
According to an email acquired by the Associated Press, the NFL is lobbying Republican House members who are physicians to push the players union into agreeing to a provision in the latest collective bargaining agreement that would allow HGH testing.
Georgia Rep. Phil Gingrey, co-chairman of the doctors' caucus, and Tennessee Rep. Phil Roe, caucus vice chair, authorized the letter to the 21 members of the "GOP Doc Caucus".
The most recent CBA has a provision that would begin HGH testing. However, the players union has asked for more data to prove the tests are reliable.
