El Paso, TEXAS -

The Bel Air Highlanders boys basketball team is a tight nit group.

"The one thing that sticks out about this group is that after a four overtime game against Keller they never quit," Bel Air coach Rob Dibler said. "This team never quits and I'm really proud to be their coach when they play that way."

Tomorrow night, the Highlanders will try to advance in the playoffs when they face Arlington Martin in the regional quarterfinals.

"We gave ourselves the best chance to do well and where we are right now," Bel Air senior Josh Martin Del Campo said. "I just feel we have come together and gotten closer after all the things we've been through."

Perhaps the most shocking part about the 5A playoffs however, that Bel Air is the last team standing. Many people thought it would be either Coronado or Montwood.

"I think it is a surprise to many since they overlooked us," Bel Air sophomore Josh Gallegos said. "We're the last 5A team in the playoffs and that's big for us, but we have to stay focused and get ready for the next game."

Players and fans know they're under dogs, but it doesn't bother them, in stead they take the high road and use it as motivation.
