A suspect considered armed and dangerous is in custody after a manhunt woke up residents in west El Paso early Tuesday morning.
At about 1:45 a.m. police responded to a possible domestic violence incident near Shadow Mountain Drive.
El Paso Police officials said a Hispanic man in his mid-twenties was fighting with his girlfriend, when he pulled out a gun. It is unknown if the man shot the gun.
He fled the scene before officers arrived prompting helicopters and canine units to continue the search.
Shadow Mountain Drive was closed off between Mesa Street and Enterprise Court.
It took police nearly three hours to find the suspect who was reportedly hiding in an area between the Seville West Apartments and Shadow Mountain Villas on Shadow Mountain Dr.
The man is now in custody, and all street closures have been reopened.
No injuries have been reported.
