Man hospitalized after far east El Paso stabbing; suspects not in custody

Two men are wanted for a stabbing that happened on at an Eastside strip mall.

EL PASO, Texas -

El Paso Police are still looking for two men responsible for stabbing a man early Monday morning in an East Side parking lot.

Police say the incident happened at 1:35 a.m. in the parking lot of several businesses in the 1600 block of N. Zaragoza.

Witnesses told police that two men were seen chasing the victim through the parking lot and at one point the 29-year-old victim from Deming, New Mexico fell down.

While on the ground both men assaulted him and that is when police say one of the suspects stabbed the victim in the stomach.

The suspects fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and was last reported to be in critical but stable condition.

The motive for this attack remains unknown.

The identity of the victim is not included in this release due to the unknown nature of the assault.

The suspects are described as heavy set Hispanic males and between 5-foot-10 and 5-foot-11 tall.
