A team of 20 auditors is expected to begin an audit of the El Paso Independent School District Monday.
EPISD officials said the comprehensive audit is to check all educational systems of the embattled district.
The auditors of Curriculum Management Systems, Inc. will spend the next week visiting all EPISD schools and talking with faculty, staff, students and parents.
"This is a major milestone towards the development of a new program in support of all students. We are excited to have an international expert support our efforts towards transparency as we move forward in our transformation of the El Paso Independent School District," said Chief Academic Officer/Deputy Superintendent Ivonne Durant.
Last week, the Texas Education Agency rated to EPISD schools academically unacceptable.
District officials said Bassett Middle School and Bonham Elementary School were not meeting criteria set by the TEA's new accountability system.
Parents will also have the opportunity to meet with the auditors.

- Jan. 13, 2014 3:30-4:30 p.m. Aoy Elementary Library
- Jan. 14, 2014 3:15-4:15 p.m. Whitaker Elementary Library
