SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico -

Police and sheriff's deputies swarmed a Sunland Park neighborhood Monday night in search of a gunman who reportedly pointed his weapon at people in a car.

The situation happened around 9 p.m. last night near the intersection of Palo Verde and Loma Vista. The SWAT team was called out and several homes were searched. However, they never found the suspect they were looking for.  Police do say they have a description of the suspect.

At one point during the night, police did take a man into custody. However, they tell us it was only a drunk man that was upset that he had been woken up.
