A man is recovering in the hospital after crashing his motorcycle on I-10 East at the Airway exit overnight.
The wreak happened around 1:15 Friday morning. An officer at the scene told ABC-7 that, according to witnesses, the man was trying to exit the freeway at Airway, when he suddenly swerved back onto I-10.
That's when he hit the raised pavement markers and lost control of the bike. He landed almost 30 yards away on Gateway East.
Left behind at scene was the smashed up Harley Davidson motorcycle and the rider's boot. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
Emergency crews rushed the man to University Medical Center in serious condition.

Police closed the Airway exit for hours overnight, but both I-10 and the Airway exit were open in time for for morning rush hour.
