LAS CRUCES, N.M. -

New Mexico State University has posted the following alert on its home page regarding a person allegedly threatening to shoot a person on campus.

4:20pm, April 2, 2014 Update: The name of the alleged suspect is 53-year-old Giuseppe Chiappara. NMSU police are asking our campus community to continue normal activity and to report anything unusual to police at 646-3311 or call 911. Photo at: http://www.nmsu.edu/specialannouncements/index.html


4:19pm, April 2, 2014: The NMSU Police Department has received a third-party report of an individual threatening to shoot someone on the main Las Cruces campus. The suspect may be driving a white van in the vicinity of the east end of the campus, to include the Pan American Center. Continue business as usual and immediately report any suspicious activity to the NMSU Police Department. Call 911.
