Stephanie was born and raised in the Sun City, graduating from Hanks High School in East El Paso and earning a bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Texas at El Paso.

She remembers wanting to be a reporter since she was young, and even came across a notebook she kept as a young girl where she would write fake news stories, complete with headlines and illustrations.

Stephanie got her foot in the door as an intern at ABC-7 while she was still attending college. She was hired as a production assistant shortly after, learning how to run studio cameras during ABC-7's evening newscasts with longtime news anchor Gary Warner and Estela Casas. She pursued a job in the newsroom, writing stories as a production assistant, and eventually being hired as a weekend reporter.

By the time she graduated from UTEP, Stephanie was anchoring Good Morning El Paso Weekend and reporting for ABC-7's weekday evening newscasts.

Stephanie now anchors Good Morning El Paso with Hillary Floren and ABC-7 at Noon with Denise Olivas Monday through Friday.

Stephanie also continues to report on stories affecting the Borderland. She brought viewers live commentary during Pope Francis' visit to Juarez and was the only television reporter to have access to indicted educators in the ongoing federal public corruption investigation of the El Paso Independent School District. She also brings exclusive stories to viewers. Examples include an in-depth look at the years-long delay of a triple-murder trial, a one-of-a-kind surgical program in the county's hospital that trains soldiers how to operate on traumatic orthopedic cases in combat and a day in the life of a teen girl recovering from a traumatic crash that took the life of her brother. She also reports various other issues that originate out of City Hall, that come from within our schools or simply that emerge as concerns from El Paso residents.

Stephanie's anchoring and reporting has been commended on a state level. The Texas Associated Press Broadcasters recognized her and the team behind Good Morning El Paso with the 2016 award for Best Morning Newscast. She was also voted Best Newscaster in What's Up Magazine in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and Best News Reporter by The City Magazine in 2015.
